Celeb Pocker review

Celeb pocker offers a few very good offers, including, a number of different variant poker games to cater for all types of players and their needs.

Customer support is reputed to be very helpful and competent and www.celebpocker.com has it’s own areas designed solely to help new players improve their game, with tutorials and other tools to help the beginner.

The first time deposit bonus at celebpocker.com is reported to be at 200% up to an amount of $500 which is extremely competitive.

The graphics used on celeb pocker are very crisp and look good, as does the software.

Transactions onsite are smooth and without problems, and there is a decent level of player traffic beginning to flow through too. One point to note is that celeb pocker does not accept U.S players unfortunately due to the change in U.S law, but there aren’t any other major problems with the site other than this I feel.

In terms of online pocker tournaments there are many large ongoing Freerolls and also gaurantee tournaments available, also www.celebpocker.com has a good rakeback scheme which sends the accrued extra money straight into the players account.

There is no point accumulation, or VIP system in place on www.celebpocker.com which is perhaps another small point which could be worked on further. But on the whole these minor points, are easily outweighed by the easy to use toolbars, good atmosphere, and the other previously mentioned plus points.

All sites have their small flaws but they don’t really take anything away from the online poker playing experience offered at celebpocker.com.

Coral pocker explains the rules on Omaha poker

If you are one of the majority of coral pocker players these days who has an excellent grasp of Texas Holdem, then Omaha is not all that difficult to learn.

The key difference is that the amount of hole cards is four as opposed to the two used in Holdem. You would think that as this is the only key difference to the format of the game at sites like  www.coralpocker.com, that it would be easy to be successful at Omaha if you are already a good Holdem player.

This is not the case however, as the four hole cards results in several other knock on effects in terms of strong starting hands, and the way the game plays out.

First of all it is important to note that hands which might usually be considered quite strong such as three of a kind, or top two pair, lose some of their comparitive strength with this pocker game. This is because with four hole cards it is much easier for both your opponent and yourself to make a strong hand at coralpocker.com such as a straight, a flush, or even a full house.

So be aware that hands which look strong aren’t always going to be winning ones. With regards to this, good things to look for with your hole cards are firstly, double suited cards. This just means that you have two cards of one suit and two of another different suit.

This immediately maximises your chances of making a flush, and connected cards of course do the same for your chances of making a straight. High pairs are also good because of the possibilities of making a set or full house.

It is important to be aware as a player at coral pocker of the fact that when you use your own hole cards and the board cards available to make a hand in Omaha, you can only choose two of your hole cards to make a hand.

You cannot for instance, use four diamonds if you have four diamonds in your hole cards, you can only use two of them, the same applies to cards which make you a straight. This was something I found took a little bit of adjusting to from the usual Holdem system.

Once you start playing Omaha at www.coralpocker.com, it isn’t a difficult game to get used to. Prior experience in other forms of poker will help of course, as pretty much all the rules are the same in terms of blind structures and hand rankings.

The only real differences in Omaha you need to be aware of, are the ones stated above.

Reading hands in some Pockerstars.com games can be considered difficult because you have no idea what any of your opponents pocker stars cards may be, in the case of Razz some of your opponents cards are open and visible to the other players, for this reason it makes it easier to get a feel for how strong a hand you might be up against.

You could look at an opponents board cards in Razz and know at the end of the hand approximately what hand your opponent has made, having said this where there are cards face down in a hand there is room for error to an extent. If your pocker opponent has an open board of (5,6,Q,K) for instance their hand may not look very strong really but if their hidden cards are (A,2, and, 3) then they make a 6 low hand, which is a strong hand to beat. in some circumstances of course your open cards may show low cards but you might have high cards hidden, if your open cards are better than your opponents though, it is worth raising to try and force them off the hand.

This can especially be the case when a good card hits your board and a bad card hits theirs, in reality you might only have 10 low, but if your open cards look the strongest, often you can bluff a www.pockerstars.com opponent out.

The important thing to remember is that open cards will always give you a better indication of what sort of hand your opponent has than anything else in this game. Study them carefully and work out the possibilities on each round of betting and other than that, try not to chase small cards too much, if you are probably behind, throw your cards in if a sizeable bet is made.

potential strength of the smaller bet in pocker

Often in pocker the larger bet is typified as the bet which strikes the most fear into the heart of an opposing player but this isn’t always the case, true, it does mean that to call such a bet requires risk in terms of putting more chips on the line but it is important to ask yourself when someone raises, what does the bet signify?

pockerstars

pockerstars is a great place to practice your betting strategies and you will also
get a great welcome bonus!

Consider the following, if you are involved in a pocker pot in a Holdem game with an opposing player and a dangerous flop comes out all suited for example, if you were drawing to the big flush, your aim is often to see the turn cheaply if you can, although a reasonable sized bet to ask a question of the other player is fine too. The point here is that often a smaller pocker bet can be far more suggestive, if a player had already made their hand here it is feasible they would make such a small bet and build the pot a little but not want to force their opponent out.

Often it can be a worrying pocker bet because the other player expects you to bet bigger, to force them out if you happen to be bluffing here, the small bet suggests something much stronger than a bluff. often because it is cheap to call however, if the opponent has any sort of hand they might call thus giving you the chance to make your flush that they are concerned you already might have. This can be applied to any sort of strong board and your opponents reaction will often give you a good insight of where they stand with their own hand.

As well as the smaller pocker bet hinting at wanting to keep a player in the pot, it aso gives the obvious advantage of letting you fold your hand cheaply if you are faced with a large reraise, in this instance you have been shown a lot of information about your opponents hand by their reaction. If the opposing player just calls, a larger bet on the turn even if you don’t hit your drawing hand lends further weight in the other players eyes that you were betting small to keep them in the hand, and will often win you the pocker pot there and then, failing that, there is always the chance you will hit that draw on the river.

Semi bluffs like these are a great way to show strength on the flop without risking many chips and their only real downside is if a player decides to smooth call you with a strong hand and they end up making a very big hand like a full house, or you end up missing your own hand entirely. Provided you have raised preflop to narrow a pocker pot to just yourself and another player, the power of making a smaller bet on the flop cannot be underestimated, especially when followed up with a larger pocker bet on the turn to convince the opposing player of what you have already suggested on the flop.

Give these strategies a try at pockerstars and see for yourself just how effective smaller bets in pocker really can be!

Types of Pocker Chips

There are a few different types of pocker chips in circulation, that can be found from casinos, to homes, and almost anywhere else you might find a game of pocker being played. www.pockerroom.com

pocker

Most of the less expensive chip sets to be found and purchased in your local shop are basic moulded plastic, and many of these sets are mass produced in the far east, (my own set were made in China) . If you are looking for a slightly more expensive and higher quality of chip then, also commonly found are ’composite’ chips. These pocker chips are usually a mixture of plastic and clay and often have a metal disc inserted during production to give the chip a little extra weight.

Predominantly used by casinos as opposed to home games are another higher quality chip made from ceramic, these have a good, weighted feel, and imbuing the pocker chips with designs is a simpler task with this variety. Lastly, the most expensive chips to produce and widely considered to be the best quality, are clay chips. These are the chips that would be gracing the felt if you were to enter the World Series of pocker for example, or many of the other major pocker tournaments held in Las Vegas.

I myself, have one of the cheaper plastic sets of pocker chips because for me they serve the same purpose as any other, and aside from this, I play most of my pocker online and in other establishments.

If however, you play pocker home games often, or simply wish to have a quality set of pocker chips close to hand, then my recommendation would have to be either the clay, or ceramic sets, both of which are of an excellent quality. www.pockerroom.com
